Thanks Dave and everyone...

Here are some small progresses in the work:

As I said, the undersurfaces of the wings had no ribs traces so I masked the wings and painted two thick coats of Mr Surfacer.

here is the result, the large stains are due to use of the same coating to fill in the extractor marks and the traces of the parts that were abducted.

This is the fuselage closed and primer-ed with Mr Surfacer.
I did not bother filling the join line on the tail because it will be covered by the tail plane.

A glimpse of the cockpit, I know it seems a sort of fruit salad where the single pieces are hardly perceived.
I hope you'll be able to see the parts...

Ciao

Antonio

Antonio,

Great work on such a tiny kit! :o  I do believe sir that although all on this forum are slightly mad, you are insane detailing in that scale!
Bessie Braddock: Sir, you are drunk.
Churchill: Madam, you are ugly. In the morning, I shall be sober!

Nancy Astor: Sir, if you were my husband, I would give you poison.
Churchill: If I were your husband I would take it.

Hallo folks, here we go with some progess:

Tamiya gray primer sprayed all over the wings and tail planes

The original cowling had the cylinders moulded on it, so I decided to make 3 cylinders from a styrene rod 1,3 mm diameter and stuck some copper wires to simulaste the tubes

here is the cowling at tis place

The wings were painted with acrylic bright red diluted enough to let the gray peep through, so it became a dark red which I personally like very much.

Middle wing with MGs

Tail planes

Bottom wing (lower surface) with the white field to paint the crosses

Top wing (upper surface) + ailerons

The fuselage has been painted as well, but not yet started the work with the crosses:

My program is to finish the black crosses and hopefully the fuelage crosses by tomorrow evening...

Thanks for looking!!!

Ciao

I never heard about 1/250 scale kits before reading your post. Your detailing is impressive. The DrI is already a particularly small aircraft, but at this scale, you're really doing some clockmaker job...

Thanks friends for your appreciation, indeed the scale is unusual, but I was wrong in describing it as 1/250... it is actually 1/125.
Someone pointed out that the cylinders are too long and wouldn't have enough room rotate in the cowling... ok it's right! I will see if I can shorten them withou spoiling the cowling

Here we are: I finished my DrI and I am pretty happy with it.
Here it is: a few shots on a white BG to better show some details:

rigging (fishing line 0,1 mm), wing struts, cabane and undercarriage struts, sticks beneatu the lower wing are scratch built...

here you see the cockpit access step self made with a electric wire

Undercarriage structure was self made as the tail planes struts. Crosses are self painted as you know.

Here below are a couple of pics with the usual cent coin...

Simply amazing, Antonio, and really beautiful!  Just the fact that the control surfaces are deflected in this scale is mind boggling.
Brilliant!

Sorry that I missed the end of this one - a truly inspiring effort! I thought that 1/72 was small enough but you have shown that even smaller scales can produce stunning work. Many congratulations.
