Hi Ernie.

Great jog with the pre-shading and tail.

Very nicely done.

Zabu, Francois & Patrick, thanks for the kindness.  I should hopefully have a bit of
a progress report in a day or two.  Watch this space. ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Here we are with another bit of news.  I have sprayed the upper surfaces of the wings in the green
and brown colours of Lt. Guynemer's Nieuport...with aluminum edging.

You may notice a ugly sploch on the green of the top wing. :o  Note to self...
never shake a bottle of dark iron without checking if the cap is on tight! ::) :-[

The underside of the wings are now sprayed
with Alclad White Aluminum.  Preshading is Tamiya wood brown with a bit of grey.

The fuselage aft of the cockpit is also now sprayed with the White Aluminum.  I did a bit of
preshading on the sides...I'm thinking I should have made that a bit heavier.

Finally, for now, I have painted the tail skid woody brown and replaced the plastic
skid with brass tube, coloured with the now hated Dark Iron. ;) ;D

I'm sure you are getting tired looking at the Nieuport's bum. ;D  Now I get to start on
the nose area so a change of scenery to come. :)
Thanks for your interest!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

The aluminum edging on the wings is superbly done.

The fuselage weathering imho seems to be quite balanced with the rest ( tail and wing underside ), but you can always try to post-shade. Very nice skid.

Cheers

Ernie, I must say that I am EXTREMELY impressed with this update! Looking beautiful. Here is something to contemplate:

Thanks for the kind comments and advice, Ed, Zabu and Rick.  Much appreciated.
Rick, I think that figure belongs, doesn't it?  Thanks for the find!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

She is looking brilliant Ernie, the wing colours are excellent as well as the fuselage, the preshading looks fine to me, I also lke the tail skid.

Thanks Des and Lance (welcome back, Lance!).  It's good to hear the encouragement.
It's getting to the point where the major painting is almost done and I can actually
start putting parts together...apparently that is an important bit. ;) ;D

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Hi Ernie,

Your painting is a very nice work . It will a bit look like a silver bird. Beautifull work Ernie!

Kind regards
