Lovely work on that 'pit, Dave, as usual.  Obviously the Silly Season hasn't blunted your abilities!  :D

Next installment, please.

Hi guys

Been a bit lazy these past few weeks, but holiday in sunny Thailand looming
as it does every March, for me and my wife. She loves the culture, so do I.
And I have been working on and engine of a new plane. Yes its WNW, but
more later. I just cant put the bloody thing down, so all else suffers  8)
Back soon chaps . . Have a good one

All the best from sunny New Zealand

Dave ;)

Dave I am catching up with your build and I must say it`s amazing - the woodwork looks spot on and the cockpit rocks! ;)
A lot of rigging ahead - what are you going to use for the process? What turnbuckles are you going to use?
PS. I do envy you the Fe2b - the one in 1/48th is high on my wanna wanna list - a hard to find though.
Best regards
Filip

HI Filip

I use .1mm invisible nylon thread, smoke coulored for the rigging,
and I make my own turnbuckles from 0.4mm brass tube, 0.2mm
inside diameter, with 0.3mm diameter loops at each end, made from
thin electrical wire. Sometimes I go smaller but not too often. The
fee is a challenge and I am really taking my time on this one. And
its Big! 8) Cheers Filip

Have a good one

I know it, too, where from it comes. And I have shamelessly downloaded this photo for the near reference when I will be building mine! Thanks, KONG.

Hello Dave:

It looks like you are fiddling with another big winged bird!!  The engine looks the business.  I have two of these things, not sure why now.  It will be neat to follow you along on it when you tackle it.  In the meantime, the FEE.  I don't know if you have read it or not, but "One Spring in Picardy" by William Stanely will certainly get your FEE juices going.

Thanks for the link Mark. Most appreciated. Yes is anothe deHavilland.
I got a boxful before stocks ran out before Christmas and opened it.
Bloody fatal move, cos' I started the engine, as you can see. and the
Fee and Snipe took a back seat. The Fee will be attacked with a vengeance
after March's vacation, so I should get some progress there.
Take care Mark, all th every best from down here in Middle Earth.

Cheers

Dave

I'm not so good at identifying engines, but I know beautiful when I see it!
What a superb job, Dave.  The oil/grease treatment is perfect.  Wonderful
work, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)
