Very sharp! Besides the decals, were there any issues with the kit?

I can honestly say that apart from the decal disaster and a couple of self made problems caused by my self not quite thinking far enough ahead or not being perhaps patient enough with a couple of issues specific to building this type of aircraft, everything went together very well.
I would most certainly recommend this kit. i used the Pfalz D.IIIa photoetch set to compliment it but found that some of the PE parts were unnecessary as the detail on the model itself was crisp and clean. I also scratch built the gravity tank lines, radiator pipes and parts of the engine from scraps of wire and spare sprue , which perhaps makes it look of a bigger scale than it is , as some have commented upon.
what was really nice was that I snapped it up from an auction site at a bargain price
