Thanks gents! Glad you like the tonal variation. This is something I have been experimenting with for a while and I feel I'm getting it under control. Most variation is created just by using different varnishes for the finish - gloss, semi gloss, matt, and some variations in brands because they all have their own character. Thanks agin for the kind words! Cheers, Jeroen

The model is really looking good Jeroen. Great idea using the
different varnishes here and there.  Very convincing.

Today I installed the upper wing. All rigging points have been prepared so I'm going to add wire over the coming days. After that I need to install the flaps and top machinegun. Then some minor adjustments.... and she's done. A week, a week and a half, and she should be finished!

Hello Jeroen,

very interesting. Great mimicked the difference between the fabric, parts of metal and wood.

Your experimenting with different techniques is certainly paying off in a very attractive and well executed build.  Looking forward to the end result.

That's a stunning SE.5a, Jeroen!  ;D  Excellent work.  The finish is absolutely first rate, one of the best I've seen.  I love your subtle color variations.  Well done.

Bob
