Up date starts on page 1

The wheel well fit is pretty good , even when test fitted to the wing , still will need sanding and filling

The engine cowls will need some work . I ended up having to put spacers under the top panels to leave this off resulting in a cap down the center . I will fill this with plastic card instead of putty . a new panel line will need to be scribe

Coming along nicely. That detail is pretty good for a 78 kit - I remember in the late 60s/early 70s that getting hold of Monogram kits in the UK was a real treat. This is a trip down memory lane.....

Super attention to detail as always Alexis. I too remember buying Monogram kits in the 1960' and 70's (I am obviously older than Nigel!),- they were very good indeed for their time and well worth the extra outlay.

Come to that I suspect that they are not bad even by today's standards, but as I no longer build kits I cannot be certain of that.

Stephen.

Excellent work as always Alexis. Like some of the others I remember this from the original release. You are putting in just the right amount of detail work, IMHO.

Thanks for dropping in guys and sharing your feedback , it is appreciated

Those child hood memoirs sitting at the kitchen table with glue in hand , it was a torture waiting for the glue to dry so the next stage can start in the assembly . I got glue every where but yet so proud of the end results .

Stephen , They hold their weight up to a point to older kits such as Tamiya and Hasegawa but for when it comes to modern kits , not so much any more but the only other option in this scale is the ICM kit and form what I under stand it is a copy with a few changes made . But I don't have that kit to really compare the two side by side . Modern kits like Eduard , Hong Kong Models , Great Wall Hobbies , Newer Tamiya kits the level of detail now is just amazing .

Been some time since the last up-date on this project .

wells have been painted and weathered a bit with details pick out in silver paint , glued in place and work on the seems have started . Doing this part now before the wings are attached to the fuselage , nice to have a bit of room cleaning these seems up . There are some pretty big gaps to be filled . I filled this gap with plastic strips first sanding that down when dried . Now it is time for a bit of putty And areas which lost the rivet detail will be drilled out up and around the engine area so everything will blend in a better with the details throughout the kit . Props are painted and ready for decals . Engines got a coat of gloss black for the Alum , I used Vallejo metal coat . ( I'm out of Tamiya Alum form their enamel line of paints ) This has no grain like their lacquer and acrylic line .

I wiped up some bulk heads to hid that area and some detail keeping with the kit details .
