Part 4.

I made a lot of strides towards completing this one. The Hemi engine block was painted traditional orange. I added spark plug wires from twisted wire and the belt out of masking tape.  The blower intake was scratched up as well. I know the openings are too small but it is what it is!

I didn?t realize that Tom?s model works was still open for business. I ordered the German WWI gun set and used the Spandau jackets.

I opted for a Jasta 19 livery. This markings pilot is unknown as well as the serial number.

The kit rudder was way too inaccurate for me. I decided to use the one from Revell?s 1/28 Dr.1 kit. Control wires are heavy EZ line.

The kit doesn?t provide any markings for the lower wing so I used some Americal Gryphon extras on the tail and bottom.  The Jasta 19 plane should have the intermediate block type cross but I like the ernze cruz look.

I can?t tell you how much fun this build has been. Very refreshing not to worry so much about accuracy.
Almost finished!

Tim

Fun. Built this one as kid like a lot of other old fogies here. Also a couple others in the series from Deals Wheels ? Rif Raf and his Spitsfire was memorable. . .

Choosing that livery was a really good call.
Alan.
