Thanks very much Andreas, Bo, Dave, Paul and Sandy. It has turned out pretty well but I don't think I will be doing any mud and water dioramas for a while.

Next diorama plan is to do Berthold's DVII crashed into a house with the new Aviattic figures in front of it. But I'll do a quick build of a DVII first......

Hi Nigel...again - stellar job on the diorama. And I totally understand your rational for the retrospective thoughts on your finished work explained very well on the PF forum. The difficulty I see is that it's hard to realize some of these things until the project has gone passed a certain point. Very much looking forward to your D.VII diorama, which sounds very ambitious indeed  :)
Cheers,
Gary

I was a bit disappointed when I finally assembled the figures on the base because it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The figures looked great on their own but I felt something was lost when I put them on the base and I regretted not thinking about that more before I painted the figures. But everyone seems to really like it which has made me realise I was probably too close to it to review it objectively. I also take this stuff far too seriously, it is supposed to be fun after all :D

The crash diorama will be an interesting journey. I saw the Berthold figures Richard was planning and really liked the idea of those. He had a few parts left over from the 3D skeletal Fokker DVII he did years ago and he gave me those so I can incorporate them into the diorama. And I fancy sculpting a house from foam as well....
