That's beautifully put together Mike. But how the heck are you going to paint it with things like the windscreen in place? Careful masking I presume.....
Hi Nigel,
The fuselage is already painted Silver/Grey - it just looks close to the printed resin color on the photographs.
Silver/grey - Tamiya Flat Aluminium (XF16) and Sky Grey (XF19) mixed 2-1.
The rest of the model is decal, apart from landing gear/struts,

Mike

Hi all,
I've added the decals required for this particular model.
The engine is also complete and fitted,

That's looking even better now Mike, this is a lovely build. It's making me want to get mine off the shelf....

Phew! That would've been tough if it wasn't painted.

Great progress Mike.
I'm surprised how similar in design and construction the Pfalz is to the SS D.III.
Thanks,

Hi all,
This particular Pfalz D.VIII had bracing struts fitted between the fin and tailplanes.
These were represented using flattened 0.4 mm diameter tube.
The tubes were retained in position using 0.12 mm diameter mono-filament through holes drilled through the fin and tailplanes,

Mike, this Pfalz is looking really really good as per. Especially love the engine, guns and cockpit.

Hi all,
Moving along now.
The model and upper wing have been weathered.
A combination of:

Flory Models fine clay wash (Dark Dirt and Grime).
AK Interactive Kerosene wash (AK2039).
Tamiya Weathering Master (Set D - Oil Stain) and (Set A - Mud).
Dry brushed ?Mr. Colour? Super Iron 2 (203).

Now it's onto pre-rigging before fitting the upper wing,

Mike

Hi all,
The pre-rigged upper wing is now located, but not fixed to the struts.
I'll fix the struts in the upper wing once the rigging is complete.
That way I don't risk contaminating the various rigging lines with adhesive at the upper wing.

Now it's onto final rigging,

Mike
