Aurora Albatros D.V, 1/48.....
« on: October 24, 2024, 09:16:42 AM »
My third and final for the Dave Wilson Group Build. It was an honor.

Build log here:   https://forum.ww1aircraftmodels.com/index.php?topic=14662.0

This really is pretty much out-of-box. I changed the cockpit combing, wire gun barrels, rescribed the rudder, E-Z line rigging and aftermarket decals.

And the rest...

I'm thankful for the chance to honor Dave with these builds. Godspeed Dave.

Beautiful, brother. One of my all-time favorite kits, flaws and all. Love that color scheme.

Been out of circulation for over a month now, had bronchitis since I saw you & Su at Lime Rock and can't seem to shake it. I can see I've got a lot of catching up to do here on the forum...

A lovely model, striking scheme. All in all a fine tribute to Dave, certainly.

I'll repeast what I said elsewhere - great work on a very poor kit. But it shows the fun side of modelling and it's definitely a great result and a nice tribute to Dave.

Magnificent Albatros, Allan31. Truly spectacular result especially considering what's in the box.

Lovely work and a wonderful tribute that touches on the heart of modelling; the joy we get from simply building.

Cheers.

Thanks everyone. I figured a garish paint scheme would distract from a sub-par kit.
Thanks,
