Canadair Sabre 6 : JG71. Kinetic 1/32nd Scale Revisited
« on: March 07, 2024, 12:23:23 PM »
After looking at the post by Lance I have been inspired to go back to My JG 71 build of the Kinetic Sabre.

RAGIII
a look at a photo from the last updates: Some panels and intakes re- done and re- scribed to be more accurate.

Nice restart Rick, looking forward to the crosses and tulip leaves  being added. Glad to see you are displaying the flaps down; I could only find a couple of photos of them on the ground with the flaps down and they were all Luftwaffe jets, but for one of a Canadian Mk. V. Any After market bits in the assembly line for this one?
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks to all for looking in and commenting! I found that I had No Idea what colors I had used a few years ago. Due to that, touch up turned to almost a total re-paint. I was happy with the basic results so went on with some further steps. I applied some of the major decal markings. :

Thanks for looking in Tim and Dutch!  So I finally got a poor photo copy of the Directions. One thing I noticed was that following the box photos had resulted in the fuselage cross being located incorrectly. I was able to correct that mistake....more or less  ::)  Gear and wheels are also now in place. So now decaling continues and I have done some touch up painting.

Better and better, Rick! If the von Richthofen brothers had had a couple of those babies, they could have cleared the skies over the Western Front in about a week and a half.

(I wonder if JG71 ever painted one of their a/c red just for old time's sake...?)

Thanks Dutch. As far as I know No Sabres were painted Red. There was an "Almost" all Red F4F Phantom done for an anniversary or retirement of the Phantom, I can't remember the exact reason  ::)
