Some of the Roland-Walfisch two-seaters have had their rear windows converted from hinged to sliding windows.
This was also the case with the aircraft that I would like to model.

To do this, the folding hinges were removed and a wooden strip was attached to the top and bottom of the window as a guide rail.
On the underside of the window, the fuselage ran fairly straight to the rear - a longer rail could be mounted here.
At the top, however, the fuselage was a little more rounded when viewed from the rear because of the cutout for the gun carriage.
Therefore, only a relatively short guide strip could be mounted at the top so that the window did not jam when pushed.
A small wooden block was mounted as a handle on the inside and outside of the window frame at the front.
In order to convincingly represent these features on the model, the frames of the rear windows had to be sanded down a little at the top and bottom.
The first model picture shows a kit-window where the frame has not yet been sanded down.

Here the frames have been sanded and the guide rails mounted.
I used thin strips of Evergreen material to represent the wooden guide rails.
The wooden blocks mentioned as handles are not yet glued to the windows.

I hope that it won't be nearly nine months before the next update, but I have to put the Roland C.II aside again
I'm currently finishing an Aviattic Pfalz D.VIII.
You can see a little bit of that in my avatar picture.
