The front of the engine doesn't quite match the front of an 185hp austro-daimler 6 engine, so I've filed it to shape.

Before:

After:

I've also added the wire insulating tube:

And the water pipe and pump:

Cheers!

Beautiful, Max, I have nothing but respect for you folks who can work such wonders in 1:72. I've passed my small-scale stash on to my son, who swears he's going to take up building again one of these days...

Thanks for the kind words, Dave and Warren! If that stuff hurt your eyes, this next bit will make them explode (mine did a little)

I had to make and re-make the magnetos several times before getting them right. The final ones are sitting next to a toothpick here:

Magnetos mounted and wired:

Spark plug cables added:

Timing gear and intake manifold installed:

A little clean up is needed on the latter two parts, then I can finally move on to painting.

Cheers!
Max

This is madness, sheer madness!! I struggle to wire up magnetos in 1/32, let alone 1/72. Amazing attention to detail.

We're all an unreasonable bunch when it comes to details.

Astonishing, I love what you are doing. I agree this is madness but of the best kind that is touched with genius! I can't wait to see more. :)

Amazing, Max. I'm with Zac, just sitting here shaking my head and silently mouthing the word "Wow" over and over...
