Meng 1/32 Fokker DR.I - the 425/17

I have finished my build of the Meng Fokker Dr.I depicting MvR's 425/17 in its early days.
I experimented with a new pre-shading / streaking method, which I think turned out well. The build log is very brief, focusing on this new painting method. I painted on the national markings as well. In these pictures the color looks slightly more red than on the actual model, which is a bit more of a brick red color.

This kit did have its challenges with mis-aligned mold halves and delicate attachment points for some parts, in addition to the usual warped wings and broken fuselage panel.
Thanks for looking in and happy modeling!

I was hoping that you would give us a final look at this Beauty! Excellent results and one of the Best All Red DR12 models I have seen! Well Done Ken!

I’m not a big red Dr.1 fan but this is definitely an exception. Very nice work Ken!

Well done, mate -
Your MVR DR1 looks really great!
For a future project, I really recommend Meng's 1/24 version of this kit - goes together beautifully and there are no warped wings in this kit.
Regards

I too am not really a fan of red triplanes, but your model is making me think again. Superb finish.
