Very interesting document, James - thanks for posting.

I always wondered why he was flying an aeroplane in Turkish markings when he died, but this explains he was showing it to prospective Turkish buyers.

Of course, he had survived jumping from his burning Albatros by parachute after being shot down in the war as well as walking away from the Pfalz D.VIII crash (albeit with a broken jaw - I wonder if Aviattic's forthcoming 1/32 resin figure will have that!) Unfortunately this last time his luck was out when he tried to sort the Rohrbach's spin rather than jumping with his chute before he got too low.

Wow, thanks for sharing this. This book is bviouisly a labor of love, and what a mine of projects for a scratchbuilder...
