This is coming along very nicely, Stephen.  I would like to see a photo of all 6 models together when completed.

Thank you everyone for the very kind supportive comments. I have now posted photos of the completed racer in the Completed Models section and will post some of the second model in a few days time when it too is finished.

Ken: I will post photos of all 6 models when I have built them, but in the meantime I will post them individually as I make and complete them.

Stephen.

Stephen,

Just hooked on to this one, sorry for being so late to the party.

I am always stunned by how fast you work and how good it looks! And you build them in tandem, as if it is the most logical thing in the world…

Both engines were constructed in the same way: I used a piece of round sprue of the right diameter and cut pieces to represent the crank case. The cylinders were pieces of 40 thou rod glued into place over a drawing of a 7 cylinder engine. In the case of the Omega Omega engine I put 7 cylinders in a row first, then turned the piece over and added the second row of cylinders so that they filled the gaps behind the first row.

Stephen.

You make it all look so easy that it is inspiring and disheartening at the same time…

Cheers,

Wllem

Thank you Willem for the very kind comment.

What I did not tell you all is that one set of wings proved to be a total disaster and in spite of my attempts to align them properly, I failed to do so. I made a second set which is why the two models were not completed at the same time. I really do make mistakes.... too many sometimes!

Stephen.
