How insert Gaspatch RFC turnbukles in the model ?
(1/1)
xan:
Hi I 'am starting a Brstol Scout at 1/32.
I would need Those RFC turnbuckles
My problem is that insert clasical turnbuckle in the model is easy: A hole with a drill, and then put in the turnbuckle. But in this case, how can I do a hole to put ii such a flat and large base ?
Did someone use them on a 1/32 British plane ? How did you manage it ?
Thanks
Xan
Mike Norris:
Hi Xan,
I think you can use a diamond file and remove the lower sides of the flat shank to approximately 0.5 mm width.
Then drill a 0.5 mm diameter hole at the correct angle into the model surface.
Secure the turnbuckle into the hole using CA adhesive.
This should secure the turnbuckle in the model surface, but also leave some of the flat shank visible, as on the real aircraft.
Mike
