Digital Microscopes

Does anyone here use a digital microscope for their modeling work?
I can see that one might be used for painting details, especially on figures, and working with small PE parts and such.
If you use one, what kind is it?
Does it have an adequate depth of field?
Adequate lighting?
Clear, distortion free view on a screen?
Any feature you would recommend?

Looks like the cheap ones go for about $30 - $40 on Amazon, but I imagine the more expensive ones are better.

Yes I bought a cheap one on ebay for 30GBP or so IIRC.
I posted a pic (back in my blue Fokker D.III build I think). Not at home just now to post another.

It's not stereoscopic so quite awkward to paint, say a face with varying depth of field, under it, (although flat is fine) - magnification and lighting are terrific. I find it invaluable though to check say an instrument panel after work. Also to read decals like the WNW ones, before and during  application, where my eyes are just not up deciphering the "Benzin" etc writing the right way up.

USB charging, so it just sits on a shelf behind me and goes on the bench whenever I need the extra mag the optivisor can't give.
