Roland C.II. #2. 1/72 Airfix
« on: March 30, 2023, 09:56:52 AM »
Ok. This is the last one for now.  Very common scheme. I don’t have build logs due to the age and Photobucket pirating all my photos.

I think these old Airfix kits really do have a lot of potential.
Thanks for looking in !
Tim

As a child I was fascinated by the Airfix Roland kits though I've never built one. Not only do they have a lot of potential as you have shown here, the old magic is still there. Lovely models Tim.
Wouldn't mind some up to date versions of the C.II/C.IIa/C.III, though. KP? :D

Great job on the model.  Would like an Airfix retool or KP redo for this kit.

Nothing wrong with those old Airfix kits: the evidence is before our eyes! This looks very good - well rehearsed scheme or not.

Very nicely finished!

I know that the Airfix kit has some shape problems in terms of fuselage in particular, did you do any corrections to the shape of the kit?

Cheers!

Thanks Brad.
It’s been too long to remember exactly what I did with this build. I don’t think I did any surgery to the wings or fuselage. Only added small details and sanded the “starving cow” look off the wings.  I’ll definitely build at least one more of these someday.  I’ll have to research a little better to see what changes to make.

All the best.
Tim
