Toko 1/72 Nieuport 11
« on: March 14, 2023, 04:53:04 AM »
Toko Nieuport 11 N836 LE Vieux Charles in blue.  I did make a few improvements. The axle and Lewis gun are  from the Eduard Nieuport 17 kit.  Much of the cockpit was scratch built.  Next time I would replace the landing gear.  I had to fiddle with the cowling a bit to get everything to fit.

Decals are from Print scale 72-257 Rigging is with .005 Nitinol wire. I took off the molded windshield and replaced it.  The struts appear to be a little thick but I was OK with it.

I used Vallejo Model Air  Russian AF Grey.  The blue on the roundels was too dark so I used the light blue from Fantasy Printshop French Roundels and covered the dark blue with light blue. It Worked well.

I will someday build another Nieuport 11 as I have many decal combinations still to use. A good model but would benefit from some improvements .

Great looking build Rip. I like the blue scheme. Thanks for sharing the paint used.

Super build. I for one would not have guessed that you had any problems with this model - it just looks extremely good from where I am sitting.

Stephen.

Congratulations, that's a beautiful model. As Stephen said there are no signs that it caused you any grief in the finished result.
