Special Hobby 1/48 Grunau Baby II sailplane

(1/2) > >>

kensar:
My next completed sailplane is the Grunau Baby II designed in Germany in 1933.  This was a primary training glider for most of the Luftwaffe pilots before WW2.
This simple Special Hobby kit depicts a fictious Baby.  The wood grain is done with oil paints then covered with Future.

Thanks for looking.

lone modeller:
That is a very fine looking sailplane. These are an interesting and rather neglected subject for modelling - yours are extremely fine.

Stephen.

kensar:
Thanks for commenting Stephen.  I do feel like a loner where my sailplane models are concerned.  I know of no static model sailplane websites or forums (plenty of RC sailplane sites, though).

RichieW:
It's beautiful Ken, your wood effect finish looks very much like real wood. I need to experiment and practice with your technique.

I must add that I very much like your sail plane models so keep posting them here! :)

Richie

RAGIII:
Outstanding work as always Ken! Your wood grain is beautiful.
