DH.6 1/72 Phoenix vac
« on: February 16, 2023, 09:39:41 AM »
Another older build I’ve taken better pictures of:

This is a vacuform kit from Phoenix models which has very nice details. I've added an Aeroclub RAF 1A engine with a lot of scratch building, Aeroclub wheels, Prop is scratched from two two blade metal props cut and fused together. rigged with EZ fine black line. Paint is a mix of Model Master enamels.

The DH-6 was designed as England's first purposely built trainer. The aircraft I chose to depict was one of several that were pressed into anti submarine patrol aircraft in the late war.

After relooking at the orange spark plug wires, I’m thinking they need to be painted over. Not sure of the NHRA hot rod look!

Thanks for looking in!
Tim

Not one of the best looking D.H's of the first war, but you've done an excellent job with it Tim.
And yes, the orange wires do seem a bit out of place  :)

First the Gunbus and now a DH.6? Tim, you really know how to push my buttons! I'd love a DH.6 so it's good to know there's a vac available (I'm not in a position to get the Hobartville kit just yet).

Gorgeous work that easily looks 1/48, if not larger.

Very nice model of an old vacform. On the sheet LC88, pattern by Les Cooper 1988.

From the days: "For WWI it's vacform or nothing".

Nicely done, as usual! Good to see this built as I have it in the stash. It cleans up very well.

You do not see this type modelled very often so it is good to see one modelled so well. Given this was a vacuform I take my hat off to you for such a fine model.
