Fokker Blue.....
« on: October 31, 2022, 02:49:16 AM »
While enjoying my second cuppa this morning, I wandered into the model building cave and again wondered how I'm going to get that blue on my triplane.

I had been poking around the www and found some online recipes I tried but didn't like. I have Paul Leaman's book and like it so I opened it up.

I'm comfortable with all the research and detail he has in this so decided to try and match what's in there. On the third try, I think I got it at least close enough for my use.

I painted a swatch and then photographed it under several lighting conditions, the last is in sunlight.

This recipe is for Vallejo paints.

10- 71.001 White
 5-  71.404 "Duck Egg Blue"
 1-  71.004 Blue

A satisfying morning, hope this helps.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Nice recipe Allan!  I may have to try a variation on that with Tamiya or Mr. Color paints.
