90% of your Vallejo airbrush problems will be solved by adding a few more drops of "Airbrush Flow Improver".
I switched to Vallejo a few years ago and have had no problems. I'm about to try the set of WW1 german colors by AK for the first time.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

Thanks for the tip Allan.
I don't think the AK colors are bad per se.
A big advantage is of course that there are explicit sets with the matching colors.
I ordered AK Interactiv "Airbrush Flow Improver" today and will test the stuff with the airbrush when I get it.

More amazing work. I love that detail on the fin!

Thank you very much Nigel.
However, I have changed the screw connection of the elevator fin on the model again.
I found an original picture which shows this detail more clearly, so my original screw connection no longer had a chance.

Here is the "old" version:

Here is an original:

...... and the "new" version on the model.
I used 0.5mm aluminum tubes, drilled them to 0.4mm on the inside and inserted a 0.4mm resin screw into the aluminum tube. then the tube including the screw was fixed to the model and painted.

@Allan, Tim, Nigel and Radarman, thank you for your kind comments  ;D

When I started building the Albatros at the time, I sanded off all the fittings and screw heads on the Fuselage in my zeal.
So I also sanded down the step flap with the horseshoe-shaped frame on the outside.

I wanted to reproduce these details with an etched parts set ..... which of course is no longer commercially available.

I still had the frame fitting on the outside as an etched part, but not (any more) the ribbed flap itself.
Here I had to use a thin plastic plate made of 0.13 Evergreen material.
The only problem was - how do I make the fluting on the flap?
The solution was quite simple - if you have the right pliers in the drawer.
The fluting of the cheeks was a perfect match for embossing the small flap.
Cutting it to the right size and contour with scissors was then child's play.
The frame on the outside had to be adjusted slightly to the Albatros fuselage contour and that was it.
Nothing is glued in the pictures, the flap itself is still unpainted.

What a brilliant idea!!  :D

Thanks Rafael ....... but I have to admit, it took me a while to come up with this idea  ;D

Danke Rafael ....... ich muss aber gestehen, es hat etwas gedauert bis ich auf diese Idee kam.

The step flap is now installed on the model - including some "weathering" etc., ... .

Also done - the Eisernen Kreuze and the "rote vier" are now painted all around.

The two maintenance hatches with access to the elevator control cables have also been attached.
Here with "special glue" from AMMO.
Save your money, it's nothing more than white wood glue.

Hehe, there are so many gimmicks these days that we modellers can buy! Often they do nothing that other tools do already.....
