Beautiful models, Frank.
You are a man after my own heart - my passions are 1/32 WWI and 1/24 vintage cars, although I've nothing as early as 19th century!!!
As always your attention to detail is outstanding.

Thank you Edo, Giuseppe and Sandy!
I have to give a big compliment to ICM, that Benz Motorwagen is a fantastic kit!

If nothing comes up, I'll be there again next year! The date is set: 15./16. October 2022 Ried im Innkreis, Austria

Cheers,
Frank

On last weekend I visited the Euro Model Expo 2022 in Lingen which is the biggest model exhibition in Germany.
Since it was my first time, I had full freedom in choosing some of my models for the competition :)

To increase my chances I selected the Benz Motorwagen, as I have not done many car models.
This model won a gold medal in the category Civil cars in 1:24 Master class (there was in each category Beginner, Standard and Master) at the Euro Model Expo 2022 in Lingen.
Here together with my other medals.

It makes me very happy to have won three gold medals in the Master class.

Cheers,
Frank

I should have commented on this lovely build much earlier. Your Benz is very finely done. I had a privilege to see once that model build somewhere in Poland during a modelling contest. It surely is something special. And your rendition is just perfect, as anything you build and show us. No wonder, that it was also noticed and awarded at the Lingen contest. Congratulations, Frank.

Well deserved awards Frank - congrats. I saw some photos of the competition posted on FaceBook by Robert Blokker and there were some outstanding models there.
Cheers,
Gary

Thanks PrzemoL, Ken, Zac and Gary!

I had a privilege to see once that model build somewhere in Poland during a modelling contest. It surely is something special.
Really pity that ICM cannot provide such great kits to the modeling community due to this war! There was an announcement for an easier  (and cheaper?) version without PE spokes, but I'm not sure if this was delivered already before the war.

Gary, the Euro Model Expo is huge (8000qm)! I am sure I did not see everything, as I was there as an exhibitor.
The visitors were more impressed by my work in progress parts (e.g. half done wooden air screws) than by the finished models.

Cheers,
Frank

Congratulation Frank for the well deserved medals! Really spectacular models!   :)

I would have loved to see them in Lingen, but from Berlin for me it was too far away. At least your Motorwagen can be seen in two or three EME 22 youtube videos.

Best Regards,
Rafael

I was really surprised for my first participation there! It couldn't have gone better.

Oh, so close?  ;D  For me, it was quite a bit further from Munich. But it was worth it.

At least your Motorwagen can be seen in two or three EME 22 youtube videos.
Many beautiful picture and video reports emerge now. Really pity that I see some models now, which I missed in real.

Cheers,
Frank

just how big are the finished models...

And how hard is that PE to work with?  SO tempting to grab this and some Model T kits now
