A teeny one

Morning all

Chatting with a clubmate who's interest is WW1 models in 1/72 scale we got onto the subject of figures for them and he produced a set of Das Werk Naval crewmen. When I suggested that they would paint up well he gave me the box! 

Here's the first of them. I used a couple of acupuncture needles drilled into his boots to attach him to an old paintbrush handle so that he was easier to work on. All painting in my usual acrylics.

This picture is not only cropped, don't expect that the link is working long!
It looks like a Goggle Photo picture link, but Google do not allow external linking of pictures. See help page of Google Photos.
There is a share option, but the users need to go to the Google pages to see it.
External linking was a feature of Picasa, but now it is not possible to add photos to it. I think that was one of the main reason to replace Picasa by Photos.

Hi - very nice. I’m looking to build the das werk sub and use the diorama pen from Uschi  - just wondering about your friend - did he sculpt these himself as one offs or is he selling sets? Cheers Matt

These are commercial figures (www.das-werk-models.com) Albion alloys I believe sell them in the UK
This one is from a set which would suit you DWF011 SM U9 Bridge crew. Set of three figures with hands and heads cast separately. The folds are a bit heavy handed, but scraping back makes them acceptable (IMO) The 'Captain' is holding what I thought was a set of binoculars when I first saw him, but on closer inspection it turns out it's a theodolite.

Worth asking, because they are often disposed of by the practitioner after use. They come in different gauges and lengths, but most usefully they are very flexible unlike brass or piano wire.
