What a great job on a difficult subject, OM.  I really
have to hand it to you.  You have shown super modeling
skill, and the results are first-rate!  Thanks for sharing
with us.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Great work in this old model.

Your rigging it's amazing, specially those double wires!

Nicely done.

Cheers.

Thank you all very much, my friends. This one is getting closer, now that I finished the 'Bullet' scratch-build and have bench time to devote to other projects. I have got myself into a situation where I have five or six models going at once....

More progress on this, my friends. Engine works and landing gear complete, and rudder on, tail-skid too...

It was possible to use the kit wheels and exhaust stacks, with a little alteration (wheels got some 'facetting' and axle caps and air valve holes, exhausts had the upper portion flattened a bit and opened up, and their lower portion lengthened a little).

The cooling plates on the motor are individually applied bits of quarter millimeter strip 2mm wide and a hair over 3mm long, bent to a curve.

Next step will be control elements (aileron struts, various horns and actuators, and a lot of fine wire...)....

Sorry but I have not seen this before.

This is an amazing build - truly a silk purse from a sow's ear if ever there was one. I know this kit from personal experience of old and it has potential but it requires a great deal of work and skill - and you have supplied both. The rigging and finish are to the usual outstanding standard that is the hallmark of your modelling - I am very impressed with the home-made markings - usually I paint mine (except serials). Very many congratulations on such a good model - makes me wonder if I should bother to post any more of mine.

Thank you, Sir.

All credit for the decals goes to the lady wife, and her skills with making the machine do graphics tricks.

Nice progress Old man.

Your job around this little fellow it's outstanding. The cowling panels and exaust pipes came out real nice.

I feel a certain nostalgy looking to your model as it was my first ww1 build when a was just a small kid.

Thx for the pics and the memories that they bring to me.

Cheers.

You are truly the best friend of the really old, rarely missed, and almost forgotten kit.

Getting pretty near to completion on this: aileron connector struts and aileron actuating wires are on, king-posts are on, control horns are on, and final decaling done....

Tail rigging, including external elevator cable runs, and king-post wires, are most of what remains to be done.

Hi OM.

Your rigging it's quite amazing and you did some weathering on those decals too.

Nicely done.

Cheers

Thank you for the kind words, Gentlemen.

I am looking forward to getting this one done; it has been over a year, and is the oldest save one of the builds I have out on the bench.
