Absence
« on: October 23, 2021, 09:58:31 PM »
Dear modeling friends.

I'm sorry to say that my Handley Page V/1500 scratch build will have to take a backseat.

Yesterday my wife Karin suffered a stroke at her mother's funeral. She is in hospital now and the left side of her body is paralysed. For now, I will dedicate al my time to her rehabilitation and hopefully full recovery, but I am told that it will take a long time and there are no guarantees.

We'll meet again

Willem

"Ubi maior minor cessat"... Best wishes to your wife for a full recovery, and to you for the challenge of assisting her through what can be a very steep path.

Such sad news Willem.  I am sorry for the loss of your mother-in-law.  Don't despair,
stroke victims can recover to varied degrees, my sister is my example.  Your wife has
a long road ahead, but with your love and support, all is definitely not lost.  I will remember
your wife in my prayers for her recovery.

Best wishes,
Ernie

This is very difficult news, Willem, and we understand that your priorities have changed completely. Your wife comes first, and it is absolutely vital you are there for her. I wish you all the best as you continue to care for her. I have been down this road but with cancer, and fortunately my wife Vanessa is absolutely fine now. So never give up doing your best to encourage her and help her down the path to recovery. Regards, Marc.
