Martin Hille of Germany is a gifted scale figure manufacturer whose Kellerkind Miniaturen product line enhance model displays and dioramas around the world, earning a global reputation for high quality.
Now on release from we have an appealing pair of 1/32 scale resin figures depicting a German mechanic helping a pilot adjust his parachute harness for a 1918 vignette.

Figures have become an essential part of an aircraft display, enhanced by an increasing number of well sculpted scale figures in authentic clothing.
Kellerkind of Germany have carefully avoided the stiff, formal poses used by some other manufacturers and gone for figures in natural poses based around the subject aircraft.
Set # 54/102 is a good example, depicting a German mechanic helping a pilot adjust a parachute harness in a 1918 setting.

The parts come in a strong, plastic protective packaging with cast resin one piece figures with separate, posable arms. Special note should be made of the casting quality. There are no air bubbles or flaws about these pieces.
The quality of the sculpting and casting of Kellerkind figures is world class work. The details of faces and clothing are always nicely captured and create a real sense of authenticity about them.

As with all scale figures the challenge is for the painter to make them more lifelike and in this regard Kellerkind provide invaluable help with the header sheet containing a painting guide for both pilot and mechanic.
This is of great assistance and cuts down the modeller’s time in chasing colour references.
The 1/32 scale modellers will find these figures well worth adding to their model displays. They would look ideal next to a Fokker D.VII or Siemens Schuckert D.III or any late war German aircraft type.

Two beautifully sculpted and nicely cast figures, ideal for a 1/32 scale 1918 setting.
Highly recommended.
Our thanks to Kellerkind Miniaturen for the review sample.
