Camel & Co (Limited Edition – Dual Combo / Scale 1/48)
« on: September 28, 2021, 01:56:36 AM »
Hello friends of the flying boxes,
Many are sure to be curious about Edward's new Camel.
I was lucky enough to get the kit for the I.P.M.S. Germany to introduce.

Eduard is bringing this new kit to the market. Unlike the other kits from the company, this is not a re-edition, but completely new molds. As already described in the title, this kit is limited and designed as a dual combo, which means nothing other than that two independent models can be built. The cardboard picture shows two Camels F.1, and in the background Capt. James Bigglesworth, the fictional pilot of several well-known novels appeared in the 1920s. There is a large plastic bag in the box
6 gray and (extra packed) 2 clear injection molded parts. Each of the injection molded parts is available twice, which already indicates that this model will soon be offered individually. There are also two identical etched part boards, two masking templates, two decal sheets and the mandatory assembly instructions. The plastic parts are neatly sprayed and show a high degree of detail (even the nails of the rib bands are shaped). Furthermore, the different fuselage and wing designs (since the Camel was built by different companies) are available for both models. Another highlight are the four rotary engines installed at the time (Bentley, Clerget, Gnome and Le Rhone). This means that the correct engine can be used for the respective aircraft for the first time. Each model consists of 97 plastic parts plus etched parts.
The model can be upgraded with the etched parts. There is an instrument panel, the seat belt, the cane for the seat, and some attachments.
Eduard delivers neatly printed decals for 10 versions of the Camel on two sheets!

The building instructions are twenty A4 pages thick and guide you through the individual building sections on 9 pages. Optional versions are highlighted separately in blue. Coordination with the different versions of the possible machines (A-J) is essential here! The last 10 pages show the painting of the machines and the places where the decals are to be applied. The color system refers to Gunze and Mission Models.
And now some pictures ;D

The kit promises a lot of fun in any case.

greeting from Germany
