Rick,

Brilliant - glad this one is coming together for you!

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave!
RAGIII

This is excellent Rick, it's great to see a build coming together so effortlessly. The weathering looks superb already. 😀

Richie

Thanks Richie. As of today just a little more to do and it is finished!
RAGIII

Great work, Rick.
Beautilul scheme and great weathering. I love easy builds to push the mojo up again and with this great kit you made a wise choice.
Bye,
Manni

Thanks Manni. There is something about doing a WNW kit to build confidence back to where it should be  8)
RAGIII

Looks like a great start on the weathering.  This should be another awesome build!

Thanks Ken. I am pretty well pleased so far  :o
RAGIII

You are really fast  8)
...and I like your beautiful plane.

Thanks for the positive feedback!
RAGIII

looking great, please don't fling it across the room  :D

Thanks! If this one were to crash it would be totaally accidental  ;D
RAGIII

That is super Rick. Please just follow EBF's advice this time!

Stephen.

\Thanks Stephen!
RAGIII

and now it is almost there. After these were taken I added the elevator and rudder control wires. Just a bit more weathering and the final clear coats left.

So nearly there and looking great, the prop looks fantastic too. I hadn't noticed it before. You must be really pleased with your work here. It's so good to see you back on your best form Rick. :)

I added some oil dot filter work and applied the clear coats. This one is finished and in the case! Thanks to all for the support!

Great Rick, that you pushed a project over the finishing line without some problems on the last inches.
I like this bird in this interesting livre.

Cheers,
Frank

Congratulations Rick - and I sincerely hope that  it makes you fell a good deal better.

Looking forward to you building a real aeroplane next - there is nothing like a pusher to make you feel very much better......

Please could you explain to those of us who are completely ignorant of different painting/finishing techniques, (ie me), what the "oil dot filter" method is.

Stephen.

Thanks Stephen. It does feel good to finish one without a major issue  8) As for "Oil Dot Filters" it is pretty much like it sounds. Dots of Oils, in this case burnt umber, raw sienna, black, and white, are brushed on randomly. They are then blended together. The last step is a damp brush to remove what you don't want. It leaves subtle color variations without totally changing the original paint color.

Excellent Rick, both the model and possible choice for the next project.

Richie

Thanks Richie. I have lived in Fear of building a DH2 for years. As a matter of fact this is the fourth one I have owned. 3 WNW and 1 Roden. I traded the others away over the years  :o

What a beautiful end result!

Somewhere you wrote that building a WNW kit is good for building your confidence. Well, it really seems to have worked!

Somehow your build also inspired me to take out my WNW Albatros B.II (to be built as a Swedish version). So you've gained momentum and you've inspired others with your work - how great is that?!

Nice to see this one over the finish line without issue, Rick.  I hope you will add more pictures in the 'completed' section.  It looks great.
