Hello from Bavaria/Germany
« on: June 08, 2021, 04:06:59 AM »
Hello,

My name is Michael, I'm living in Bavaria/Germany in the city Augsburg, about an hour to drive from Munich.
As a resident of Germany English is not my native language, and so I hope it will be good enough to write in this forum.

I am 54 years old, and I am building models and paint figures since many years, I would guess about 30 years.

The aviation of WW1 is another passion of mine, and there is always as least one book of this subject on my sofa, that I usually read in the evening.

From time to time I combine my two hobbies, and build WW1 aircrafts in the scale 1/72 and 1/32.

As soon as I found out how to post pictures in this forum, I will show some of my latest projects.

Regards, Michael

Hi Michael, welcome! And I hope you have a great time on the site and pick up some useful info! Don't worry too much about the language, we will make it out and there are more than a few German speaking folk on the site.... Alexis included! Regards, Marc.

Servus Michael,
Welcome to the forum! Like Manni said, to this day there was no philological problem I could remember.
I am quite sure that we met sometimes when Corona was just the name off a beer. We frequently meet the guys from Augsburg at model shows around here (or even in Alsace).
Best regards, greetings from Erlangen/Nuremberg (Franconia, not Bavaria),

Hello Michael, welcome to the forum. If you have troubles to show your pictures let me suggest you to save your photographs to a photographic sharing site, such as Flickr, Imgur, Postimages ecc. All of these allow you to share an embedding URL, you just need to copy the picture URL and paste in your post. You can make use of hyperlink or image buttons as well (the World and the Mona Lisa).
Ciao

Welcome to the WW1 forum Michael.
Augsburg is Swabia, not Bavaria at all.
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your models, or building reports of your projects.
Many greetings from Mundraching on the B17, not so far away from you, but in Bavaria.

Servus
Bertl

Thank you for the warm welcome  :)
I am surprised that some of you are even living in my area.

A special thank you to gbrivio for the hints about posting the pictures.

 :)

Welcome: I had the same trouble when initially tried to post my pictures and received the same suggestions by fellow forum members. I hope it helps.
