The next one finished - do we have the SPAD weeks now?
Not that detailed as Ken's SPAD, but a nice model nevertheless. And you were not afraid of the complicated rigging 8)
And finally a big extra star for this never-before-seen livre!

Cheers,
Frank

It does 'look the business' and it's nice to see different liveries.  Fine job!

RAGIII,
That’s a great,  no nonsense, looking Spad.
I look forward to seeing more photos in the

Thanks Frank. We now have both ends of the spectrum covered with Ken and My builds  ;D  As for the Livery if it had a triangle and letter N it would be accurate. As I have said I took a WAG about how it "Could Have" appeared while it served in 19 squadron  8) SPAD Week  ;D I think both North Carolina factories are closed...at least for now. I am sure if you get started on a SPAD you will simply replace the struts with brass, do some soldering magic for fittings, and make it look Easy!

Hey you tried to slip this one past me so that I would not notice!

This looks gret Rick - well up to you usual very high standard. Nice to see one in PC 10 and RFC markings too.

Stephen.

Hi there,
Fantastic stuff! I am currently doing an out of the box build of my forum prize kit and using your build as a reference.
So far so good. How did you find it compared to the SPAD 7?
Thanks:)

Hi you used a combination of zig zag and single stitch archer decals?
I’m glad you found kit decals ok. Mine look a bit transparent and out of register but I’ll give them a go when I get to it.
Also thinking of doing early 23 Sqn crate. Cheers  ;)

Personally I think the kit is better than the SPAD VII and the Old Hobby Craft XIII. Not by a huge amount but better! For one thing the struts are sturdier and accurately shaped. I hope you are also following Kens excellent build!

I used the kit decals to see how they worked. When I do another I will spray the roundels. I think I used just the zig zag lacing but I will have to check. I did mine to match the type used on the SPAD VII as My build represented the First XIII to reach the RFC. I think the lacing was different on the XIII 's used later. There are some good photos in the Data File.

Thanks!

I’m still filling the gaps on the wings. I’m using an old tube of Mr white putty and I’m not loving it. Anyway yes I’ll check the other build. Mines a quick OB build so nothing fancy. Might try the decals. It’s not WNW but it should look like a SPAD which is all I want
Thanks and happy building

Beautiful! I do love a SPAD in RFC markings.
The next one finished - do we have the SPAD weeks now?
My prize kit is sitting there mocking me, daring me to get started!
