Dear All,

On my last visit to Old Warden aerodrome I was able to get a couple of pictures from below of the engine bay as it was in the engineering hangar and the mechanic let me grab a couple of shots.

This is the only air worthy original SE5a in the world and is even credited with a kill.

I hope these might be of interest to the incredible super detailers on this forum.

I'm afraid I can't tell a Viper from a Hisso, perhaps somebody could let me know.

Best wishes
Richie

Well I returned to the museum today and was given good access to the original SE5a which airworthy once more. Hope you like the pictures.

You're all very welcome. I'm visiting the museum again next week. I'll see if I can talk the engineer into letting me get some more shots of the interior. Don't ask, don't get!

I think this aircraft belonged to Major Jack Savage who pioneered sky writing. He donated it to the Shuttleworth Collection shortly before he passed away.

My pleasure Alexis, I love visiting the Shuttleworth Collection. It's en route to my parents' house where I have much garden clearance to do. They have some truly wonderful aircraft there and they are all airworthy.
