Hello everybody,
Here is a short introduction of myself. My name is Rafael and I'm living in Berlin - Germany. I'm 44 years old, and I started modelling 4 years ago.
My first completed model was the Revel Bentley Blower (of course not WW1). After that I felt that scale modelling could become my passion. I'm always trying out new things, which I learn from youtube tutorials or other modellers. Building time does not matter.
My first aircraft was a Bf 109E-3. Still not WW1, but already in the air.
In 2019/2020 I built the Jeannin Stahltaube from WnW. I'm a very slow builder. I love the details and that takes time. I love the technique and want to understand the functionality of every pipe, wire, ... Including research, e.g. asking and receiving special pictures from the Berlin Technik Museum, the project took over 1 year.
The built evoke my passion for the WW1 aircraft technique. I ordered some of the last remaining WnW kits
. Now I have work for the next few years.
Currently I'm building the AMC DH.2 from WnW. I started in Sep 2020 and most likely it will take some more months.
Just some days ago I found out about this phenomenal forum. I hope to find and share experience with some other "crazy" modellers and get (and maybe give) inspiration for future work.
Best Regards
Rafael
