German wireless antenna
kkarlsen:
With the Friedrichshafen FF.33 L just around the corner by Lukgraph, I've started preparing.
I'm interested in the CFHT variant which had a wireless installation and outboard antenna.
The photo material I have seen is very poor with no details.
Was this type of antenna installed on other reconnaissance aircraft...
There is also some kind of feature on the right top wing of the CHFT variant...
What is it?
Any information regarding these issues would be very much appreciated...
Cheers: Kent

Are you sure it is an aerial and not a bomb sight?
I'd expect to see a reel for a trailing wire

Hi Kent,
have a look at this link (go to Instruction Page 16) - this should be the same construction as the FF.33l. If you have the H.B. W29 WNW model, then the parts should almost fit.

Great help Bertl, thank you. One can even see the generator's OFF position!
Any idea what the rectangle on the top wing is?

Looks like an additional fuel tank, but just my guess. The generator is also featured in Flashback W29 kit.
Ciao
