Good job! Good luck with the lower wings.
/Fredrik

Thanks Fredrik. You made it easy to do the markings 8)

Looking really elegant Rick, love the silver dope scheme. You'll definitely get the lower wings on just fine. Well I'm confident anyway! :)

Thanks Richie. I should note that getting them on May not be the issue...keeping them on is another story  :-[
RAGIII

Great, Rick

Models always seem to come to life once you put the markings on.

I'm crossing my fingers for you on getting the lower wings on

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave! I am pleased with how the painted markings came out. One nice thing is their is no problem matching the colors when final touch up is needed  :D
RAGIII

I completely agree with Richie: the finish is simply super. As for the wings - they will go on to help complete another first class model from your workshop.

Stephen.

Thanks Stephen. I certainly hope you are right!
RAGIII

As usual, outstanding modelling Rick!

I'm always amazed by the tempo with which you build and yet maintaining this high standard.

Your completed models must take up a lot of shelf space by now.

Any chance of posting some overview pics of them?

Willem

Thanks Willem. My Tempo is average as is the quality  8) I will try for a couple of photos later taking in the collection.

Looking good Rick. The Indian head and markings look great. Keep focused when you place the lower wings and I'm sure you can do it.

Thanks for commenting! I made the plunge and mounted the lower wings. The good news is that the struts line up square, the dihedral looks good and all is fairly secure. The bad news is that I was impatient and should have waited to make my cuts on the lower wing roots. Some fit issues will need to be fixed with Magic  8)

I'm glad the repair job on the silver turned out so beautiful Rick.

I think you could well do without another mishap. You've already had your share the past year...

Willem

I thought it was time to confess  ::) About the time you posted this comment I was setting up for a photo shoot of the Nieuport 28. I moved the 24bis from my photo area and placed it in a box below. I grabbed My Cell phone and dropped it right where I had placed the 24. I have to say that if a Cell phone has altitude advantage the Nieuport is a goner! I salvaged the interior and rebuilt the aircraft from My second kit iin the stash. I used the Floquil silver without the Tamiya mishap and went on  8) I did give a small hint in that I added 2.5 to the title  ;D  So everything from the photos with the cowling attached is version 2.5  ;D

Another excellent silver finish.  Like someone said - 'don't slop it on'.
I have to say your work is still improving from one model to the next (either that or your photography is improving)   ;D

I'm really liking how this is turning out.

The roundels are masked? Great job!
At least on small ones it may be not easy ::)

An aluminium Nieuport is nice, I should touch soon the Nieuport 17 Triplane!

Cheers,
Frank

Great, Rick -

Glad to see you have the lower wings on.  I hope it goes well sorting out the fit at the wing roots

Thanks Frank. Yes all of the markings except the indian head are painted using Masks that Fredrik did for Me. He sent very detailed directions on using them that were a Terrific Help! I look forward to seeing that Nieuport Triplane  8)

Beautiful work as always Rick, your roundels look amazingly clean. I often end up with a lot of touching up to do when I mask them. I knew the lower wings would be on and in fine shape soon enough. ;)

The roundels and wings look excellent rick. I am sure that your photography is not the reason why your models continue to improve, practice takes us towards perfection.

Shame about another accident with a kit: can you salvage any parts for possible use elsewhere? At least you do not give up and throw it all in the bin - although the temptation to do so must be great sometimes.

Stephen.

Like I said I managed to salvage the interior and used it on the second build. Also the cowling that I had drilled out and engine!
