Comment:
Every modeller has their preferred tools to help their builds and Special Hobby have sent samples of two indispensable items for every hobby work bench – a razor saw and sanding stick from their CMK products line.
The razor saw is a rather clever design as it features a plastic handle in two halves between which you can secure a double sided saw blade ( available in different blade grades). The handle and blade is held by screws and provides a remarkably stable and very robust cutting tool.

The handle set comes with a standard double sided blade but CMK also offer Very Smooth and Ultra Smooth grade blades featuring more teeth for finer cutting, which are interchangeable with the standard handle.

I have several fixed blade saws on the bench but the CMK set with its alternate blades has become my ‘go to’ razor saw now.

Equally important in modelling is a quality sanding stick and the CMK sanding stick is really four sanders in one. It’s divided into four grades of sanding surface- two per side- which range from coarse to fine. The stick is finished in a black surface so it can be difficult to see at a glance which sanding surface you are using. As always, check first.

That aside it’s a quality sanding stick and works very well providing a satisfactory result.

VERDICT: Highly Recommended.
