I'm pretty sure everyone thought this thread had demised, but there is some progress on the Meng Triplane! And I need to express my thanks to everyone who commented on the Roden kit - I still need to add a few touches and do those final beauty shots! But here are some potos of today's work, a lovely experience to be building again...

Firstly, the lower surface of the middle wing and the two side pieces of the cockpit cover (here painted silver) don't worry that it's a bit rough, it won't show! But the instructions show that the transverse bar that supports the gun butts (part A59) needs to be added first. It's fit is quite secure and precise, and if your cockpit upper parts are broken off or loose, this will help strengthen the entire assembly... Also check at this stage if it fits onto the two dry-fitted fuselage halves, this will save frustration later!
I also did a whole lot of little decals, the instruments that went on well and will look good once I add a bit of clear varnish for the glasses, and the Axial decals on the prop, strangely not supplied by Meng but here taken from a WNW kit. I also started with the PE seat belts, here dry-fitting and bending started, and will be painted before assembly.... Note the cross wires on the rear bulkhead are simply stretched sprue glued in place, smoke 'n mirrors, as Rick says!

Thanks for watching and have fun modelling! Marc
