Great builds and I'm picking up a lot of tips for my 1/48 Eduard Dr.1's.

Quick question:  On Kirschstein's striped Jasta 6 a/c.   How did you handle the underwing cross fields?  Did you use a slightly different hue of underside blue or just go the same across the whole wing?  I'm just thinking of what was done on the original a/c when the underside crosses on CDL fields were modified.

TIA

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I went with a slightly lighter blue figuring it was fresh vs the bluish turquoise I used for the base color. One could make an argument the other way and use a darker blue figuring the paint faded with age. It is your call. I went lighter because Many feel the blue went with a slightly darker turquoise tint due to the dope overcoat and yellowing with age.   ::)

PS: I also brushed the lighter blue on using an OLD bottle of Polyscale I had on hand  8)

Thanks for the reply.  Your approach and reasoning makes sense to me and I will use a similar scheme when I get to the painting stage

A small update. I have been working on the Encore Boelke figure from the Albatros DII. I have changed out heads replacing the Encore Boelke with a Generic Head from Manta Figurines.

RAGIII,
Looking great and the figure has what I would call a very natural stance.
I looks like he’s a bit shy about getting photographed by the press.

Thanks Patrick, as I said to the others, greatly appreciated! Although I am not where I want to be yet I think I am beginning to learn to work with the Valejo flesh tones.

I think figures look real easy to paint but they're not. It's real hard to paint figures right but you nailed it.

Your figure looks very good.  I'd like to see a broader shot with more of the plane.
