WW2 German tanker bust 1/9 scale
« on: October 01, 2020, 01:34:38 AM »
In an effort to practice painting with acrylics, I dug out an old resin casting given to me many years ago by modeller Chris Mrosko. I'd started it using an enamel primer, and was going to finish it in oils, but it languished in a drawer for over 20 years. Armed with my new Vallejo acrylic colours and the wish to experiment with some new techniques, I thought I'd tackle this piece before jumping onto the Young Miniatures Somme 1916 infantry busts I'd recently bought. Short of a few touch-ups and mounting it on a decent base, I'm pleased with it so far. Still need to work on my blending of colours...
Cheers,
Gary

The bust when I started it back about 2001 with an enamel primer and some oil paints.

Repainted with a black base primer, and Vallejo acrylics.
