Very nice! I have my second kit arriving tomorrow, so one will have to be streaked. Thank you for sharing the build progress.

Thanks,

I really did enjoy it. It can be a very simple build if you want it to be.

I have been off the forum for a few weeks due to work and home stuff and I cannot believe what I have missed. Wow!! Your build is amazing!! The streaking I am going to have to experiment with, I love the effect!!! If you don't mind what were your airbrush settings and needle size to get that variation in spray? I agree the MRP paints are great. I only tried a a couple of colors; but, after seeing your work, I think I need to try more. It is just amazing!!!!

Ah thanks,

It’s a standard airbrush - nozzle is 0.3mm, I used a low pressure setting with the movement of the needle limited to prevent an overflow of paint. It’s really not as hard as you think. Just worth practicing first - an old model wing would be ideal to get the feel for it.

Hope that helps...

My goodness, I love that streaking!
There are only two states to be in:  Queensland and blotto.

Thank you for your inspiring build. Can I ask a newbie question please. Was the green streaking part of the dyeing process for the cloth or was it painted on after the aircraft was built?

Thanks,

It was built with plain linen wings and painted on with a 4” brush at the factory - so that was the standard factory scheme I believe.

The best evidence points to it being painted on using a strie technique similar to what is shown in this video. ...but imagine Fokker using yellow-brown and blue-green glazes over clear doped linen. And doing everything as quickly and cheaply as is humanly possible.
