Lovely to see your kit Mark - outstanding result indeed! I really like the scheme on this one. Did you paint the propeller laminations? The Aviattic streaking looks excellent.

I've got "dibs" on a Meng one when they come out, and hope to do something from Jasta 11, although the black/white stripes is an interesting scheme  - that a/c flown in both Jasta 6 and Jasta 4.

Cheers,
Gary

Hi Gary:

Thanks for checking out the images and your kind comments, duly appreciated.  The prop is a wooden one I bought several years ago.  It's not the "Proper Plane" prop some other guy, can't remember  who though.  I like the looks of it and coupled with the Aviatik streaking and cowling it turned out pretty decent.
I too have "Dibs" on a Meng one as well and am looking forward to it's arrival.  The Roden kit is okay but per usual needs some "adjusting" here and there but overall I am quite pleased with it.

It will be fun to compare the Meng kit with the Roden and the Hobby Craft DR.I in the stash as well.  Fun times I tell ya!

Take care
Mark

Stripes and Streaks, Too!  Very nicely done!

Superb. I remember reading somewhere that aircraft with that scheme would take hits to starboard or port of the centerline, Ulrich Nickels I believe. Looking at your kit, that sure makes sense!
