1/72 Sopwith Triplane
« on: April 19, 2020, 03:19:45 AM »
More news from Kovozavody Prostejov - three new kits of the Sopwith Triplane are due for release this year: A "Black Flight" (No.10 Naval Squadron) kit, an "Aces" kit (Charles Booker's "Maud" and probably others) and a Red Soviet aircraft.

I can't wait for a look at the Soviet one. Where can these kits be had?

I will just have to keep an ear to the ground and make sure I get one when they become available.
I once went hog wild super detailing the old Revell 1:72 Sop Tripe. Interior framing, new struts, even a Rotham pump. I was at work on midnight shift and I primed the parts and stick them in the drying oven in the lab at 105 deg....C They shriveled right up. I've owed myself a 1:72 Sop Tripe ever since.

Yes, it's about time someone came up with a new kit of the Triplane. I did not receive KP's Swallow and Scooter yet but their Albatros C.III looks decent, though not quite as good as Eduard.
Keep an eye on the ArtScaleKit website, they are the cheapest source for KP and other Czech manufacturer's kits.

Thank you for the info. This maybe a good incentive to return to 72nd scale, for a brief moment at least.

Agreed there, Przemo! In spite of these tired old eyes! Thanks, KP! Marc.

I'd be game to have a bash at a 1/72 tripehound. Tired old eyes too but at this scale it will be so small I'd barely be able to see the model let alone the mistakes. Exciting news!

Will be nicely complimented by the Pheon decals set with no less than. 28 schemes.

Cheers
