It's a beauty Dan, you rendered very well the smooth and elegant lines of this plane!

Thanks, Antonio...I really like the Italian markings on this guy.  It sure is graceful...

Not much to report but I got the bottom wings blocked in, the cowling and the gun covers added and fin reinforcement in too.  A good place to stop for the night.  ;D

More tomorrow as it's July 4th over here and a holiday from work!!!  This means BBQs, motorcycles, hikes and models!!!!

Thank you, Antonio.  I just finished prepping some ribs and hamburgers.  Corn on the cob too!   ;) ;D

Much appreciated.

Hi Dan,
I see now your fantastic job on another italian subject. It's all right, your work with paper is at higher level.
The only "mistakes", and you are not guilty, were made by the producer of the kit.
The italian one had the "St. George and the dragon" shield only on starboard side of the fuselage, nothing on port.
The "Balilla" fuselage was covered on sides by only one continue sheet of wood, not cut in pieces as the model is printed. Same on upper decking behind pilot. The "divisions" were only a line of little nails to fixing the sheet to the internal structure.
I was one of the member of the team that restored original 16553, I saw it dismantled for restoration.
Hope to see your models finished, you made great work also on complex system of rigging.

Thanks, Roberto.  This kit is really nice but just on the back burner right now.  It WILL get finished!
I appreciate the explanations on the airplane.  Maybe I can fix this one too.  The M.5 fuselage is in the paint shop right now...

Cheers,
Dan

Hey Dan!  What ever happened to this handsome pair of Balillas?  Hope they are still extant.

Best,

Bob

Hi Bob!

One is still around but one got eaten by the cat.  I will start it over and finish the other one, though.  The lost one was the one from Marco which is a bummer.

Of course, the good thing about paper models, just print her out again!!!
