ICM Bu131 1/32

I'm spending some time on this, a lower priority build that has been on the 'shelf of delay', to take a short break from the Tommy.  I've included some catch-up pictures.  I'm building a Dutch trainer version, that was confiscated by the Germans when they invaded the Netherlands.



The version I'm building.










Here's where I'm at currently.









There is no provision to display the engine, so I am thinking about how to do that.

Thanks for commenting Rick, Richard, Brad, and Andreas.  It's coming together nicely.  Since its a fairly new mold, it fits together well, but most of the tubing structure in the fuse has very small contact points for gluing and the whole structure is very fragile.  The plastic is also very soft.  Other areas are very simplified - around the tail wheel specifically.  Overall, I really like this kit and I'm pleased that ICM made it.  I believe pricing would be better on the Revell version if you can find one.

The model looked so familiar to me - I think you showed it in my construction report regarding the cutting plotter.
Much more progess since then, looks nice with the internal structure!

Ahhh, you talking about my recently built ICM Benz Motorwagen? But this plastic reacts nicely to the T Extra Thin Quick Setting.

Now that does look nice - the more so as it has a spare wing and a fan! The engine is good too - I hope you succeed in finding a way to display it.

Hello, Frank and Stephen.
Yes, Frank, this is the model pictured when we were discussing the cutters.
I am using Testors Model Master glue on this.  I seem to have a problem with the Tamiya glue - too runny and it goes where I don't want it to.

Stephen, spare wing installed - see below.

Finished off the cockpit and installed the doors.






Some detail on the aileron control horns.  I found I mistakenly put the upper wing ailerons on the lower wing and vice versa.  Don't think many would notice.  The control horns are PE parts intended for autos.




It's officially a biplane - with a lot of loose ends.




To the rigging!
