So I finally replaced the wheels on this one, using the current Eduard D.V wheels. While I was at it, I decided to repaint the tailplane. I know that Dan-San Abbott illustrated this machine with the striped tailplane but there are two photos of it after a crash clearly showing the tailplane in factory finish. So I decided to go for that look. The outside wheel covers appear to have black and white, but they are mangled and the inside covers are definitely not striped. Anyway, it contrasts better now with my other Udet Albatrossn.

Very nice D.III, Drew! Love that wood.

Thanks! However, some credit for the decalwork goes to Encore/Cartograf for providing some very good decals. The wire wheels were quite a challenge, though!
