1/16 MiniArt Gladiator
« on: January 24, 2020, 10:27:16 PM »
I'm waiting for stuff to arrive for my WNW Albatros D.V...and a bit of "in between R&R" because of my iaido exam and competition (tomorrow!).
The 1/16 Gladiator from MiniArt is a little fun project.

Not a great kit, but nice nonetheless.

Somewhat modified the helmet.

There many body parts. Needed a lot of filling and sanding to get it all smooth. :o

The shield decal is nice! Shield and helmet weathered with oils.

Wood with oils.

Getting close to skin and face painting. That will be a challenge! :-X

More soon,

Robin :)

Thanks!  :)

"Shodan (1st dan grade) All Pass"

So...yep!
And I'm bloody proud of this achievement.
I started two and a half years ago (57). In poor shape and 20 kilos too heavy.
The 20 kilos are gone and now I have my first dan. Woot!

Back on topic...

Struggled a bit with the colours..."normal" skin colours are way too light and pale for a gladiator I think.
Might also be the 1/16 scale...not sure. :-\

I ended up with Vallejo 70.804 beige red for the base colour and this looks okeyish I think.
Helmet will cover the face,so...pfff...good enough.

I think I can finish this soon...and start with the WNW D.V.

Robin  :)

Good job on a lot of things!

20 kg off and a master of martial arts... No wonder you've made a self portrait! 😀😎
