Stropp Albatros D.Va
« on: January 24, 2020, 12:46:04 AM »
Wingnuts has a profile of the Stropp Albatros D.Va with mauve/green camouflage wings. I have only seen this with lozenge wings.  Is this possible?

Apparently, and this is per WNW's own decal sheet "Wooden Wonders," this particular DVa when captured had the mauve/green camo. At some time post capture but before being sent to the USA, the original wings were lost and replaced with lozenge covered wings from a different aircraft.

Thank you for the reply.  I do not have the decal sheet so I did not know. I will proceed to build it with the mauve/green wings some day in 1/72 scale.

Rip,
The Smithsonian did a great book on this a/c, very much worth it in my very humble opinion, even just for the Albatros D.V info contained therein. Long OOP, but used copies can be found reasonably I think.  I too want to use the Eduard kit and do this a/c.
