That is some beautiful looking wood. It's going to look soooo good next to some clear doped linen. I built the kit years ago, so I'm kinda of tripping down memory lane as I watch your build. Most enjoyable. Keep up the great work.

Thanks guys for the kind comments . Should look even better once it has the finally sealing coat tie-ing it all together . I do have more progress photo's , but I'm over the size limited by 1 so I need to figure that out .

That wood effect looks really amazing with some varnish on. I definitely need to try that technique. What a great forum this is, I'm picking up so many hints and tips. 😀

Give it a try Richie . I have junk kits that I will try things out on beforehand , then again sometimes I just wing it and see where it takes me , which leads me down another path for experimenting . I have found out when I did the fuselage it was done over a flat finish so the pencil would have more bit  , but is hard to remove if the pattern didn't turn out right . If the surface has a clear coat and doesn't have to be heavy a light works well I found . And can be wipe off the surface if no pleased with the results . Still learning the inn's and outs of using these . But if they work out for you , give them ago .

I still have a few washes to apply and sealing coats which will change the overall look of it now ...my fingers are crossed .

Thanks guys , I made on start on cutting strips of masking tape for the ribs and and spars . This will take a bit of time to finish before painting . More to follow soon ...

Weekend is here , bench time ! With the Mustang out of the way now I continued with masking the wings ribs and under surface structure . This took a few hours . Blood fingers started to cramp up , but got her beat . Tamiya white was sprayed next  . I only sprayed a few light coats on the undersides and one or two more on the top surfaces .Pre-shading along the ribs and such I used Tamiya light gary. I didn't want full coverage . After the tape is removed one more very light coat of white will be sprayed . This will blend in the per-shading and de-fuse the bold black a tad ....I hope ! While this dries for a while my attention will turn back to the fuselage pe details and finish off the detail painting .
